Pregnancy care
and obstetrics

It is vital to me to offer you a trustworthy and professional pregnancy and birth care. So you can go through birth in a relaxed, strong and self-confident way. In addition, a well-established doctor/midwife team guarantees you individual, sensitive and competent care.

Many years ago I joined forces with the midwive Christina Proprentner and to form an obstetric team.

Christina Proprentner is a midwife and craniosacral therapist. If you have not yet found a midwife of your choice, the combination of well-founded medical, homeopathic and craniosacral therapeutic knowledge could appeal to you.

Together we make up a well-rehearsed obstetric team, where you, as a mother-to-be, are safe and secure. We take deep pleasure in our profession and in providing the highest level of professionalism.

We accompany you as a team through pregnancy, childbirth, puerperium and, if possible and desired by you, use of homeopathic remedies instead of medication. We can offer you every form of birth; from the gentle birth, in which the medical safety net is invisibly available in the background for every eventuality, to a water birth, a birthing stool, a walking epidural anesthesia and the desired caesarean section.

The optimal pregnancy consultation begins with the planning of the pregnancy. By taking a folic acid preparation prior to pregnancy, the probability of a neural tube defect in the child can be minimized. Special vitamin complexes ensure that the vitamin stores are full when pregnancy begins. If desired, the maternal immune protection (especially against measles, mumps, rubella, chickenpox, cytomegalovirus, toxoplasmosis and whooping cough) can be checked.

The mother-child pass is an important precautionary instrument. During the first examination at the beginning of pregnancy, I check that the fertilized egg is in the correct position in the uterine cavity and I check the PAP smear. I also examine you for possible vaginal infections. Furthermore, I check your vaginal flora and if necessary, optimize it right from the start, to minimize the risk of premature contractions and premature birthing.

In addition to all the necessary pregnancy examinations, I perform an ultrasound of both your baby and your cervix during each visit. So I can assure you that the pulling in your abdomen (which you will feel again and again) is not a contraction that could lead to a premature birth. These measures alone can greatly reduce the risk of premature birth. Of course, you will always receive a photo, provided that your baby can be photographed in a recognizable way, and can thus continuously follow and witness the development of your child.

It is not always easy for couples to make decisions about early prenatal diagnostic examinations. I give you extensive and unbiased advice on all examination options so that you and your partner can make a well-informed decision about the prenatal diagnostic examination that is right for you.

I also offer medical support for high-risk pregnancies which are caused by thyroid problems, pregnancy sugar or high blood pressure, developmental problems of the baby or twin pregnancies.

During pregnancy and childbirth, many women refuse to take medication for fear of damaging the baby. I will be happy to advise you on which drug therapy for chronic illnesses should be discontinued before or during pregnancy or which should be changed to safer medication. Some long-term therapies can be substituted by an equally effective homeopathic therapy during pregnancy without complications or side effects.

Within my health network I work with colleagues from almost every medical discipline. Together, through competence and professional know-how of the highest degree, we will find the best solution for you and your baby, as well as accommodate your individual needs.

Homeopathy is a valuable supplement to conventional medicine during the sensitive time of pregnancy and childbirth. The experience of homeopathically trained obstetricians shows that various conditions of pain, such as migraines or sciatica, but also chronic diseases such as neurodermatitis, asthma, allergies and even inflammatory bowel diseases, can be greatly improved and often even cured during pregnancy by means of homeopathic therapy.

Together with you and your partner, I will discuss the different variants of obstetrics in order to make your birth-planning decisions easier. Based on the knowledge of classical medical obstetrics, I also offer a homeopathically guided birth and puerperium. The highest priority is the safety of you and your baby.

Surgical obstetrics is an important part of modern medicine. In my opinion, every patient has the right to the birth they desire. As a very patient and attentive obstetrician, I try to give you the birth experience you would like. I offer everything from a gentle birth to the desired caesarean section.

Creating a safe atmosphere in which you feel comfortable supports the birth process. This is why I work together with experienced midwives who have received the best medical training. In addition, I create and uphold a setting in which you are accompanied through the adventure of birth in a relaxed, safe and protected way by my obstetric team.

With the help of my health network, I am happy to coach you on how to make the important time of pregnancy as pleasant as possible for you and your baby and how to counteract pregnancy complications as much as possible through the use treatments such as homeopathy, acupuncture or craniosacral therapy. If there are any fears during pregnancy as to whether you are up to your role as a mother or how you can balance your career and motherhood, I would recommend systemic coaching. Through coaching you will learn to recognize your limits, to use your resources optimally and to take good care of yourself in order to wonderfully handle the efforts of the first few months.

Sometimes old traumas can resurface during pregnancy. These can take the form of anxiety, panic attacks, sleep disorders and even depression. Please also talk to me about these problems. Depth psychology can often stabilize very quickly and sustainably, especially during pregnancy. Fears of an impending birth or a caesarean section can usually be completely resolved by hypnotic therapy, so that you can go through the birth competently, fearlessly and with lots of strength. Security and self-competence help you and your baby during the wonderful, yet also very demanding process of birth.

Our focus at all times is the safety of mother and child. In homeopathically guided birth, contractions can be avoided to a large extent. The correct choice of homeopathic medication calms violent and/or frequent contractions on the one hand and initiates a sluggish birth process on the other hand.

Homeopathy has effective remedies to promote wound healing after a perineal laceration, caesarean section or a birth involving vacuum extraction. It then promotes an unproblematic, painless milk production (lactogenesis), regulates milk congestion and heals mastitis. An incision in the perineum is practically never necessary during homeopathic birth. Breastfeeding problems, hemorrhoids, circulatory problems or “baby blues” after birth can also be treated homeopathically.

Our aim is to guarantee you, your partner and your baby a harmonious birth experience
